The Devotees of Lord Shiva around the world are celebrating Mahashivaratri today. Hundreds of stories for the relevance of the day is mentioned like it is the day wherein Shiva saved the whole universe from complete annihilation by drinking the “Haalaahala” the most powerful poisonous elements that first emerged from the Samudra Manthan or Churning of the Ocean by Gods and Asura’s. Many story point to the fact that one this day Lord Shiva was married to Devi Parvati. Shivaratri points to the fact of the Ratri or night element for it is the Greatest of nights of Lord Shiva. So it should have relevance. But when we go a little deeper we find that we in ourselves are holding on to a thought based on religious conditions and stories only.

As per the scriptures 360 years of human is equivalent to 1 day of a Devata(God), Gods live for a period of 100 years so it is equal to 1,31,40,000 human years. 100 years of Devata is equivalent 1 day of Adipati-Devata (King of Gods), who lives for a period of 100 years thus in human years it turns out to be 1,31,40,00,000. 100 years of Adipati-Devata is 1 day of Lord Brahma. The above figures were given as per the age of Devata, when it converts into human years it is much more mind boggling figure of 98,15,67,59,04,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,000 human years for just gaining one hour of Lord Shiva. So which Shivaratri are we celebrating. Why do we need to bring the Divine Energies to human level, why have the Divinities have all the desires and needs that humans need and desire that changes with time. Divinities are far beyond any comprehension the human mind can even perceive or even understand.
The core of the whole moment is the spark that allowed the Universe to come into being a moment in time and space where the whole expanse of the universe happened wherein the Cosmic Energy and Cosmic Consciousness merged to emerge as matter that is forever expanding in the multi-dimensional conscious expanding form in a ever expanding merging re-emerging form of cosmic light that is filled with infinite expanse of sparks that hold the energy and matter in place as accorded by the cosmic consciousness. Each dimension expanding further into more dimensions for the spark is multi-dimensional and in that state it merges to emerge as a formless form of the ancient one. The primal consciousness that never needed any refinement but the dimensional transition of the sparks were ever expanding further and further within the realm of the cosmic truth in the ever expansive handling of the truth in the ever expanding complicacies of Māyā (Not that levels of illusions held in place by the Subtle consciousness). The space between the ever expanding consciousness at the form level is the connection point for one to rise high above the religious connotation and connect to the supreme consciousness in the most beautiful manner.
